It is not a secret that winter can be hard on morale. The short days, the lack of daylight, the cold, the fashion… it’s not always easy to enjoy winter. The winter season can be very harsh but can be the best if done correctly. A few years back I decided to change my mindset and enjoy winter a lot more and I think I succeeded. I would love to share with you some tips and tricks to make you fall in love with the winter season!

Dress properly to enjoy winter!
This is a game-changer! You want to invest in good base layers and warm clothing. There is no such thing as bad weather like my mother used to tell me, only bad clothing. If you are warm you will have a greater time than if you are freezing all the time.
Forget the little jacket, the cute boots, and the small mittens. I spend my early twenties impressing I don’t know who with my fashion but that was my first mistake; not realizing that layering was my best friend against the cold.
Plan outside activities
The winter season is full of activities. If you don’t have plans for the weekend, here are a few things you should try this winter:
- Cross country skiing
- Alpine skiing
- Dog sledding
- Ice skating
- Have a snowball fight
- Build a snowman
You will have so much fun, you won’t even see the time pass by!
Plan a luxurious getaway
Take yourself to a cabin near a ski resort for a weekend and get all your stress out whether on the slope or in the jacuzzi. Bring your best friends or your family and make the most out of the weekend!
There is just something about that expensive lifestyle that can make you like anything.
Splurge on hot drinks.
There is nothing nicer for your soul than a warm drink after a day out. Herbal teas, coffee, hot chocolate… you’re choices are unlimited. Feeling you’re insides getting warmer after a long cold day outside is so pleasing.
Eat seasonal food.
I love eating food depending on the season I feel like since I started, I feel so much better! Here is a list of recipes that hit just right in Winter!
Visit the Canadian Rockies.
If you are looking to go on a vacation during the winter, you can go to the Canadian Rockies. It’s one of the most magical place I have ever visited in the winter and you just feel good there. Especially if you want to do a lot of outdoor activities, it is the place to be.
