I have to give a disclaimer that I am a wholeheartedly Maybelline lover. I love almost everything the brand came out with, and the quality of their products is remarkably amazing. I already loved their past mascaras, so when they came out with the Maybelline Sky High Mascara, I knew I wanted to try it.
This mascara is lengthening and gives volume. It is supposed to be smudge-proof and long-lasting. I love the packaging, the slick look, and the 3D writing making the design very tactile. It’s around 12$ at Walmart.
Right off the bat, I was not a fan of the brush. It’s flimsy and malleable with very short bristles. I’m used to volumizing mascaras, and those have a dense bristled wand; I’m already out of my comfort zone. But eventually, I really grew to love it! It gives you the flexibility to maneuver and really access all the lashes.
Why is the Maybelline Sky High Mascara so good?
The formula they created for this mascara is different from their other mascara if I’m not mistaken. They infused their formula with Bamboo extract and fibers, which gives a better grip on the lashes as well as being lightweight.
There is no fragrance or oils in the formula, which makes it perfect for sensitive eyes.
Does the Maybelline Sky High Mascara smudge?
I have extremely long days, and this mascara really stayed on all day without smudging or clumping. It survived a whole day of work plus a workout and dinner with friends. An there was no transfer on the bottom lashes either.
The first time I applied it, I really taught I took a waterproof mascara by mistake. I can’t stand them and would never voluntarily take one. I was ready to give it away, but as it turns out, it wasn’t. So the formula is very efficient.
This brings me to one thing I personally didn’t like; it was hard to remove even after 14 hours. If you are looking for something that will stick, this is definitely for you. But if you are like me and don’t like to fight with your mascara at the end of the day, maybe reconsider this mascara or get yourself a special eye makeup remover.
Before and After
I usually only apply one coat, but for this post, I put on two coats. As you can see, the difference between one coat and two is not that noticeable. I already have quite long lashes, and this mascara made them a bit longer and more voluminous.
