Why traveling is good for you!

I have been contemplating my life recently as I hit a few milestones I had set for myself. Going from one chapter to another and simply growing up, I realize how fortunate I am to be able to lead the life I have. To be able to go on vacations and explore our wonderful planet. Getting to challenge myself and discover who I am as an individual at a deeper level. I’m pretty sure the fact that I had to migrate a few times in my life is the reason why I am this way. Maybe if I was born and raised in one place, I would have a completely different life today, as sad as this sounds. I love the way I live my life and I’m almost certain traveling is the main reason why!

And I want you to love it as much as I do! Here are a few reasons you should keep in mind if you have never traveled or if you have just started discovering the world. Don’t forget to follow my blog if you wish to read more posts about traveling every Wednesday!

The main reason to travel is to allow yourself to see the world differently. It gives you a whole new perspective on how the world works. I believe we all have the same set of values but we tend to prioritize some over the others, and those differences are what separate each country. When visiting a new place, we often get shocked by their lifestyle, but that’s because they live with a different set of rules. Acknowledging the difference will teach you maybe a new way of living and push you toward a different path that you wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. Furthermore, haven’t you heard of stories of people completely changing locations based on the sole reason of a better lifestyle?

Other than that, you really learn about yourself. Traveling challenges you every second and will help you develop skills you would not have had the chance to work on elsewhere. As a socially anxious person, traveling taught me to open myself up and be more present. To interact with people instead of relying on technology, to see the beauty in the simple things, to break my routine and create the most memorable souvenirs. All these would just not be possible if you stay in your comfort zone.

Lastly, the thrill of the adventure will boost your happiness and satisfaction in life. One of the scariest things that could happen to me is to wake up someday in my eighties and realize I didn’t live my life to the fullest. To feel like my life was boring and predictable. To be unsatisfied with myself. Going to a new country and trying a new type of food brings me joy. Learning a few words to help me communicated and maybe build a friendship brings me joy.

Life is full of small moments to remember, and you deserve to feel those moments to the fullest. To see the unimaginable. To fall in love with your life.

I hope I convinced you to travel more! I promise you will not regret it! Let me know in the comments below why do you like to travel or why you are hesitant to travel; I would love to chat with you!

Until next time,
